1)      CCSS Conference (March 20)

a.       Jackie needs volunteers
 

2)      SCSSA Banquet

a.       Mark Elinson will call Jonathan Friedlander to acquire the Faculty Room

b.      Possible dates for banquet

                                                               i.      May 3rd, May 26th, May 27th.

c.       Awards

3)      Ballot for new board

4)      History Day

a.       Over 700 students entered but we are in desperate need of judges

b.      We need a coordinator for performances

c.       Cost for kids to participate is $35 per student.

d.      Amanda has agreed to fund a “Special Award” sponsored by SCSSA.
 

5)      Museum Series

a.       Martha says only one participant left for unit

b.      Last segment will be cancelled? Or should the final participant attend something on her own?

c.       Should we do a lecture with Clay Dube?

                                                               i.      Will need to do publicity and make it a bigger event.
 

6)      Newsletter

a.       We need to go to an online version

b.      Amanda has worked with GoDaddy to create a newsletter for CCSS (about $6 for 2500 emails)

c.       Stipend from Xuan will be given to Amanda instead

                                                               i.      Amanda will maintain membership and email lists.
 

7)      Membership/Outreach
 

8)      Arsalyn Conference (“getting the vote out”)

a.       May 16, 9 am – 2 pm

b.      At Pickwick (like last year)

c.       Free for all teachers

d.      Theme?

9)      Budget issues

a.       We owe CCSS $3000

b.      LAUSD collects payroll

c.       100-150 members

d.      Send one check $75-$80

e.       We have $9000 available
 

10)  Other business

a.       March 31 is the deadline for ballots for NCSS please vote for Michelle

b.      History-social Science Framework revision
 

 

11)  Next meeting

a.       Wed. April 1 at Michelle’s home in Culver City at 6 pm.
