Donald Perryman Fund for the Social Studies

Grant Application 2009-2010

To support the furtherance of Social Studies, the Donald Perryman Fund will be awarding mini- grants not to exceed $1,000. Social Studies departments, individual teachers, projects, and special programs are invited to apply for these grants.

Grants applications can be submitted at 5 different times during this fiscal year. Applications will be considered at each meeting of the Perryman Fund Board of Trustees. Deadlines are: June 1, 2009, September 1, 2009, December 1, 2009, February 1, 1010, and June 1, 2010. Grant applications received after any of these dates will be considered at the next quarterly meeting of the Board.

Please answer the following questions related to your grant request (USE ADDITIONAL SPACE AS NEEDED)

1. Describe how the project or program funded by the grant will promote the study of Social Studies in the classroom.

2. Clearly state the expected outcomes for the project or program being funded.

3. Indicate the time period during which the funds you are seeking will be used? i.e. September, 2009 through February, 2009.

4. Provide information regarding the number of students who will be affected by the grant. Include grade levels, school, and any relevant information about the students. (i.e. EL students)

5. Please attach a budget indicating how the money will be spent. If there are other sources of funding, this must be indicated.

6. Include any additional information that Perryman Fund Board of Trustees might consider in reviewing this request.
